Made for big home applications or light commercial applications, this sanitary check valve prevents liquids flow only in the forward direction. This check valve is good for liquid applications of more than 10 gallons, for small batch sauces, and for lab processes.
Product Overview
The Eagle 3” Sanitary Check Valve is a spring-loaded one-way flow control that is made from solid 316L stainless steel. Its operational principle is simple and reliable: a disk manufactured with precision presses against the polished seat due to the mentioned spring compression. In the case of liquid flow from the inlet to outlet, the disk lifts allowing the liquid to pass with almost no resistance. Once the flow stops or tries to change direction, the pressure of the spring pushes the disk against the seat and the system is protected against back pressure. The entire internal surface of the valve has undergone electropolishing treatment, which resulted in the surface quality Ra 32 — the smoothest surface on which the dirt cannot stick. The Eagle 3” sanitary check valve allows a flow rate of up to 50 gallons per minute, making this valve an appropriate choice for brewing equipment with a capacity of 10-20 gallons, food dispensing, and distillation. Perfectly polished ends ensure permanent and leak-free installation, with no use of any seals or the need to tighten bolts.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this safe for raw, unpasteurized products?
It is true that the 316L stainless steel casing and 32Ra electropolished interior prevent bacterial contamination even with harsh products like raw milk and unpasteurized beer. The valve is FDA compliant with food contact standards ensuring no leaching of chemicals into the fluid. When using the valve for raw applications, some disassembly and sanitizing with food-grade chemicals are required between batches, but it is an easy process because of the smooth interior surfaces.
Can I use it with my existing tri-clamp setup?
This type of valve has butt-weld ends that are meant for a permanent installation in a welded piping system. If you require a Tri-Clamp compatible valve for easy disassembly without welding, the company produces the same check valve using Tri-Clamp couplings. Get in touch with the sales team to request a valve with a Tri-Clamp connection.
How do I clean it if it gets sticky from syrup?
Take apart the valve, leave it in warm soapy water for ten minutes, and then give it a rinse. The 32Ra electropolished coating is designed to make it difficult for anything to stick — usually just soaking it will eliminate any residues. For anything really stubborn, you can use food-safe sanitizer or a soft brush. Remember never to use steel wool or abrasive pads as these will scratch the coating and create crevices for bacteria to lurk in.
What if it's too big for my system?
We provide a grant for 30 days. If the 3" valve is unsuitable for you, return it for a full refund. Eagle produces the same sanitary check valve in sizes ranging from 1/2" to 4". Please contact our sales team if you need more or a smaller size than that.
