Product Overview
The Eagle® 3/4" Sanitary Check Valve is a mechanical device that prevents backflow of a fluid. This product is made of 316L stainless steel and features a satellite disc construction. In the valve body, the disc is placed against a smooth seat. The forward flow of the fluid lifts the disc to enable it to pass through the valve without hindrance. In the case of a stop in the fluid flow, whether due to a pump stop or siphoning, the disc will be pushed against the seat by the coil spring, thus creating an immediate seal. The 32Ra electropolished finish means neither bacteria nor debris can be hidden in cracks. The butt-weld connection allows for a permanent installation with no creation of gaskets in the future. The valve is designed for 3/4-inch pipes and is suitable for small places.

Is this check valve safe for raw, unpasteurized products?
Indeed. The 316L stainless steel exterior and 32Ra electropolishing on the crevice-free inside make sure there is no bacteria growth in raw dairy or unpasteurized beer. The valve is FDA-approved for food use, which guarantees that no toxins enter upon using it. For direct applications, take apart the valve and sanitize it properly with your own food-grade or brewing sanitizer in between batches.
Will this valve work with my existing tri-clamp setup?
This valve is created with butt-weld ends to provide for long-term installation in a welded pipeline. For an alternative that can be quickly disassembled, Eagle produces the same valve with Tri-Clamp couplings. How do I clean the valve if it gets sticky from honey or syrup?
Take apart the valve and submerge it in hot soapy liquid for five minutes before rinsing it off. The electropolished finish of 32Ra is non-stick, so most dirt should come off just by soaking. In case of any remaining mess, use a soft brush (not steel wool, which may create scratches or holes). The valve can also be cleaned on-sight with proper CIP solutions, if the system allows for it.
What is the difference between this 3/4" valve and the 1/2" version?
The bore of a 3/4 inch check valve is bigger than the bore of a 1/2 inch check valve meaning that the 3/4 inch check valve can have a flow rate of at least 2.3 times greater than the flow rate of a 1/2 inch check valve. As the name suggests, the 3/4 inch check valve is made for tubing that is 3/4 inch in outer diameter and should be used in any system with that size tubing, which is typical in any system that requires parts with 1 gallon to 5 gallons of capacity, such as countertop dispensers, brewing systems, and small processing facilities. Contrarily the 1/2 inch check valve is appropriate for smaller tubing and systems with less flow. Both valves share 316L construction, 32Ra finish, and also have 3A certification.
