Eagle 1-1/2" Sanitary Plain Bevel Seat Rubber Hose Adapter
The 1-1/2" Plain Bevel Seat Rubber Hose Adapter is a sanitary-grade fitting specifically designed for making connections with 1-1/2 inch hoses for applications with a high level of hygiene standards. Due to its stainless steel construction (304 or 316L), it provides an excellent level of resistance to corrosion and is designed to meet high hygiene standards. This adapter can be especially useful for food or pharmaceutical handling processes. Thanks to the presence of a bevel seat, the adapter can provide leak-proof sealing of the Tri-Clamp connections. 3A certification implies adherence to global safety standards. The pricing of this fitting is competitive, providing a cost-effective solution for any operation.
Product Overview
The 1-1/2 inch size ranks as the most adaptable rubber hose connector and has its applications in numerous sectors of sanitary processing, from connections of machinery to transferring products. It offers sufficient flow rates to match the capacity of commonly used centrifugal and positive pumps that operate in the capacitance range of 2 to 10 HP and it is still light enough for an individual to handle easily during connection changes and cleaning. The simple bevel contact surface matches standard Tri-Clamp fittings and forms a contact joint devoid of crevices, similar to any Eagle sanitary connector. The hose end has been specially created for the rubber sanitary hose and features a gripping design, which tightens on the hose without impairing its surface.

Frequently Asked Questions
What flow rate can I expect from a 1-1/2 inch rubber hose adapter?
According to the standard CIP-recommended velocity (5 feet per second) 1½-inch sanitary line is capable of pumping approximately 28-32 gallons per minute (106-121 liters per minute). This flow rate is suitable for small to medium production facilities — craft breweries that produce 5-30 barrels, large dairy factories that produce hundreds of liters of milk per transfer, and also pharmaceuticals that rely on pilot plants and clinical manufacturing operations. The flow rate really depends on such factors as system pressure, hose length, and product viscosity. Higher viscosity products have lower flow rates when having the same system pressure, therefore, the size of the line must be checked according to the pump curve and the required transfer time.
Is the 1-1/2 inch rubber adapter compatible with 1-1/2 inch Tygon tubing?
The rubber hose adapter and the Tygon hose adapter have distinct barb profiles tailored to their respective hose types. The rubber adapter possesses a barb profile suited to the thicker wall of rubber sanitary hose. Fitting Tygon tubing onto a rubber adapter barb is likely to be overcomplicated, may damage the thinner Tygon material, and does not provide the appropriate retention force. When using Tygon tubing, employ the properly designed Tygon hose adapter with the appropriate barb used for that tubing.
How should the hose clamp be positioned on the adapter for maximum security?
Put a stainless steel hose clamp on the barb shank behind the retention ridge — the prominence used to stop the hose end positively. Position the clamp so that it sits between the retention ridge and hose end, thereby pressing the hose to the straight part of the barb. By doing this, the hose will not be able to pull over the ridge while the clamp will do its job of providing radial compression to hold the clamp tightly. Tighten the clamp by following the recommendations of the hose manufacturer. After the first few CIP cycles, check the tightness of the clamp again as rubber may compress and form a set at the barb interface.
Does the 1-1/2 inch adapter require a special gasket or clamp?
No. The 1-1/2 inch bevel end connects with a typical 1-1/2 inch Tri-Clamp gasket and is fastened with an ordinary 1-1/2 inch Tri-Clamp. The gasket and the clamp used here are the same ones used in other 1-1/2 inch sanitary connections such as a fixed bend or a valve body. There is no need for any special accessories or adapters. Using the Tri-Clamp standard makes it simpler since parts of the same size would use the same gasket and clamp, irrespective of the application.
