The Eagle 45° Sanitary Tri-Clamp Elbow is a hygienic directional fitting intended for process piping systems that need to change direction while cleaning or draining capabilities are not compromised. Built using seamless 304 or 316L stainless steel, the fitting boasts an electropolished internal surface that prevents adherence of any kind of product and withstands thermal and chemical stress of daily CIP and SIP cycles. The ends of the Tri-Clamp fitting are designed according to the 3-A Sanitary Standard 63-04 and are machined with a bevel seat allowing for création of a free injective joint that can be opened very quickly for inspection and modifications of the line. The 45° angle is the best choice for cases where it is necessary to make smooth transition between the piping sections in order to keep the slope of the line, minimize turbulence, or route the pipes in the tight places of a skid or utility corridor. Why would I use two 45° elbows instead of a single 90° elbow?

How do I install the Tri-Clamp connection on this elbow correctly?

Put the fitting Tri-Clamp gasket on the elbow's wedge surface and the corresponding ferrule. Position the clamp at the joint so that the two flanges of the ferrules are pressed equally. Tighten up the nut or screw so that it holds the clamp firmly — the gasket should be evenly squished all around.
