No matter if you are making a home brewery system or modernizing a food booth or manufacturing industrial fixtures, the seamless stainless tubing of Eagle arrives with the right strength, hygiene, and versatility. This tubing comes in 304 grade for general use and 316 for marine and chemical-resistant projects and is meant for jobs where high strength, cleanability, and reliability are inevitable conditions.

Product Overview
This tubing has an outside diameter of 1 1/2” and is made in accordance with ASTM A270, the specification for seamless stainless steel tubing for sanitary applications. The bright annealed finish results in a smooth, shiny surface which reduces the friction of the fluid and prevents product debris from sticking on the pipe. The length of the tubing is marked with the heat number which allows a comprehensive traceability of the product all the way back to the source of the material — an obligatory requirement for certification by food and drug authorities. The tubing is made of the highest quality materials in accordance with the requirements of 3A sanitary standards. The size of the tubing is very practical — it is big enough for construction of structures, such as pergolas and worktables, but still small enough to use it in small-scale operations in laboratories and home brewing systems.

Applications & Industries
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know whether to choose 304 or 316L for my project?
For both indoor and general outdoor applications, go for 304 stainless steel; this is because it is resistant to rainwater, moisture, and light oils that are fitting for home brewing systems, kitchen gadgets, and even most DIY projects. Select 316L stainless steel for tubing that will be exposed to saltwater, swimming pool chemicals, or caustic cleaning agents; the molybdenum contained in 316L gives it almost 50% better resistance to pitting, which makes it the metal of choice in marine, chemical laboratory, and coastal applications.
What does "1 1/2 inch OD" mean, and how do I confirm it fits my system?
OD stands for Outside Diameter — the measurement across the widest part of the tube. A 1 1/2" OD tube has an outside diameter of about 1.5 inches (38.1 mm). If you are connecting this tubing to a fitting already on site, your clamps, ferrules, and gaskets must be rated for 1 1/2" OD tubing. This is a different measurement from nominal pipe size and cannot be changed out with this measurement. Always measure the outside diameter of your tubing before making your order.
Is this tubing safe for drinking water and food contact?
Indeed, the tubing adheres to the ASTM A270 sanitary standards. Besides, it satisfies the requirements of other standards such as 3A, FDA, and NSF concerning food and beverage contact. The electropolished internal surface of the tube reduces any bacteria from sticking to it, and it is both chemical-free as well as non-toxic since no leaching of chemicals is involved. Each tube has its heat lot number stamped on it for tracking purposes.
Can I weld this tubing myself, and what filler wire should I use?
Certainly. This tubing is capable of being welded using TIG or MIG equipment. Use a filler wire of 308L when welding tubing made of 304, and use 316L filler for tubing made of 316L so that the weld area will have the required anti-corrosion properties. The fact that the tubing has been polished beforehand means that it requires very little preparation. One only needs to clean the joint area with acetone before welding. For sanitary situations, it is advisable to use orbital welding since it will create a smooth internal weld bead that can be cleaned using CIP procedures.
