How to pack stainless steel tubes for sea shipment?

EAGLE™FITTINGS

Recent years, container transportation are usually preferred when there are bulk orders. EAGLE Stainless has recognized the importance of proper packaging for stainless steel tubes. With two distinct methods available, namely wooden box packaging and woven bag packaging, the company ensures the safe and secure transit of their products while meeting customer requirements.

Wooden Box Packaging: Protecting Precious Cargo

PACK TUBE IN WOODEN CASE

When it comes to exporting stainless steel tubes or pipes, certain customers require them to be packaged in wooden boxes. This method entails ordering wooden boxes based on pipe diameter and cut-to-length specifications, with fumigation treatment as per relevant regulations. Wooden box packaging provides robust protection against external impacts and prevents any potential damage during transit. Moreover, the fumigation process ensures compliance with international shipping standards, addressing any concerns related to pests or quarantine requirements.

Woven Bag Packaging: A Practical Alternative

WOVEN BAG PACKAGE

In addition to wooden box packaging, P&E Stainless offers another packaging option - the use of woven bags. This method involves wrapping the entire stainless steel tube securely in a woven bag and sealing both ends with scotch tape. Woven bags provide a cost-effective and lightweight solution for packaging, reducing overall transportation costs. The bags act as a barrier, shielding the pipes from scratches and minor abrasions during handling and transit. This packaging method is particularly suitable for situations where wooden box packaging is not a mandatory requirement, allowing for flexibility while maintaining product integrity.

Ensuring Product Integrity During Export:

During the export and transportation of stainless steel pipes, it is imperative to prioritize product safety and integrity. Regardless of the chosen packaging method, precautions must be taken to prevent impacts, moisture, and other potential hazards. By employing secure packaging techniques, such as proper cushioning, corner protectors, and moisture-absorbing materials, the risk of product damage can be significantly mitigated. Additionally, optimizing packaging volume helps maximize container space utilization, reducing shipping costs and minimizing the environmental footprint.

Pls note: When utilizing a 20GP (20-foot General Purpose) container for shipping stainless steel pipes, the maximum length of the tube is restricted to 5.8 meters. This limitation is due to the container dimensions, which cannot accommodate pipes longer than 5.8 meters. For 40 ft containers, tubes / pipes will be 6.1 meters as usual.
